My guiding career started after a chance conversation with some visiting anglers who were on holiday fishing for Bream, they said they always came to the Norfolk Broads fishing but had never managed to catch masses of the Bream that the area was famous for. We all went out together later that week, caught quite a lot of Bream and had a great time plus a fairly long lunch in the pub at Hickling, on the way back one of the guys asked me if he was to come back in the Winter time could I take him on a couple of guided fishing trips Pike fishing? Well that was it and a year later in 1984 Fishing In Norfolk was born, if I'm truthful I never dreamed it would, or even could, turn into a full time job but it did and I've been professionally guiding ever since!
Although our main business is based on the Norfolk Broads over the years we have organised and guided in many different countries for our clients, including Norway, USA, Canada, Estonia and closer to home in both Scotland & Wales. These days foreign trips are rare but do occasionally come up on our calendar and are always over subscribed, if you'd like to know when any future guided expeditions are next planned then subscribe to our mailing list on the home page. On the Norfolk Broads we offer a variety of guided fishing trips suitable for all persons no matter of their angling abilities or age - our Family Fun fishing trip is a brilliant way to encourage youngsters to get into the world of fishing and wildlife. I have personally always believed that angling should be fun, yes, obviously we go out to catch fish but if you can't have fun doing it then your slightly missing the point of actually being out in a wonderful environment fishing.
I am still as passionate as ever about fishing & enjoy my guiding immensely, so come and sample some of the best wild fishing in Englands newest National Park. Our trips* run from June 16th until March 14th (the close season still applies on the Norfolk Broads) We cover the the majority of the Norfolk Broads National Parks waterways which offer an amazing variety of venues from the wilds of Hickling Broad to the urban fishing of Norwich.

We've fished with Allan & Tony for many years now and always had great days out and some big Pike over those years. very sad to hear that Tony had passed away but you keep going Allan. If you could make sure it didn't rain or snow it would be 11/10
G Franklin - Leicester
Slightly dubious about using an angling guide but after seeing an advert in the Angling times though we would give it a go. How wrong I was, very informative day and although we had pike fished for many years we both went home learning something and Paul with a new PB as well - we will be back. Colin Davies - Worcs
Four of us came up for a weekends fishing and asked Allan if he would take us on the River Thurne for 2 days. Well slightly inclement weather in January but with perseverance and Allan's enthusiasm we all went home with twenty pound fish - stunning idea not sure why we hadn't done it before. K Lamb - Notts
Saw Allan's advert in an old Coarse Fisherman magazine and booked a day with him, great day with some real nice fish caught. Tried his Norway Expedition and went back 3 years on the trot and caught 2 thirty pounders over there - thats some trip that one - keep it going Allan.
Greg Coldmore - Kent
Came up on one of Allans Bream trips, fished with Tony and managed to boat over 140lb of slabs from the river Yare. Great fun and Tony's banter was just the ticket. Been back almost every year since and while not always catching 100lb bags I have always had a great time. Paul Lington - Wellingborough
My son had always wanted to catch a Pike so we booked a trip for his birthday with Allan and that one day turned him into a keen pike angler, first fish out was just under 14lb and my son was just amazed at the size of the fish. My son now asks most weeks to go out Pike fishing with me at home and every year we return to Norfolk to fish with Allan. Jason Simms - Luton
